SQUAMISH HOUSE RENO
This Squamish house renovation project was a great way to add some quick value to a home. We only renovated the ensuite bathroom, upstairs bathroom and the covered patio. Ever since Steric Developments moved up to Squamish, we are taking on more projects locally and enjoying the short commutes and the breathtaking scenery.
We took the single ensuite and turned it into two separate bathrooms by moving a few walls and slightly shrinking the master bedroom. In the new ensuite we used large format 24×48 tile from Ames Tile to reduce grout lines and to give the bathroom a bigger feel. The black trim around the tile and shower glass match the vanity hardware and towel warmer to give a uniform look that makes the lighter colours pop a bit more.
Ensuite Bathroom Shower
Black trim is the theme of this bathroom and this pic shows it well. You can see the nice Riobel shower head with body spray option and the paper towel holder all match. We also installed a niche that aligns with the grout line and makes for easy storage of shampoo’s etc. The linear shower drain is a really nice touch and is tiled so all you see is a small opening between the tile where the water drains.
In the 2nd bathroom there are two sinks and mirrors for each kid. Again, all the hardware is in black and the vanity in white adding nice contrast to the darker floor tile.
All set up with seating around the gas fire pit its a perfect spot to enjoy Squamish weather. We added a frosted glass privacy screen and have the option to roll down the shade on the opposite side to trap a bit more heat for the cooler nights.
The covered patio was a great extension to this Squamish house and the soffit we chose was a knotty pine stained from Fisher Coatings. It contrasts nicely to all the black trim and beams adding great character to this outdoor space. With the Chief right behind this house, the views of Squamish from this seating area are breathtaking.
