THE HAMILTON

THE HAMILTON
The Hamilton Bank Building built in 1914 was a very fun and unique project. The building was extremely run down and we were able to restore the original character back to life. We refinished the original fir flooring, revamped the lobby, and remodelled each of the buildings 42 suites.
FRONT HALL
Local artist Meaghan McGrath helped complete the lobby and add a unique touch by painting 90’s rap lyrics on the wall. Most of the building is contrasted by black and white but in the lobby we wanted to add a real pop to the space with the front entry door and art work.
HALLWAYS
With a lot of hard work we were able to remove the flooring on top of the floors and bring back to life the original fir wood that was installed in 1914. We also used lighting that resembled a marine light which fit in with the location of the building in Port Town.
SUITES
Each suite has a Standard kitchen in it supplied by Ikea and white subway tile which gives a nice contemporary feel in contrast to the refinished floors. This room had some brick in it as well which gives the space some real character.
Shared Bathroom
Black and white theme again is prevalent in the bathrooms and we tried to give the shower area more of a spa feel where there was no door and you can walk in to the shower. We tried to keep the sink very simple and minimal to maximize the space.
STORAGE
The basement took a real transformation from what it was previously. We removed the old coal boiler which took up a large amount of space and removed some walls to open things up. We spray painted all the pipes to look new, painted the floor with a traffic coating and built storage lockers for tenants as space is tight in the suites. The building is heated with steam heat which is what the white insulation is for to reduce the heat from the pipes.
